Hello December! Winter is a magical season filled with holiday cheer but with weather getting colder and days getting shorter, it’s easy to get the “winter blues”. Include these ideas into your regular self-care routines and see the difference in your physical and mental health.
EAT WARM FOODS- We all crave a nice, hot drink during the winter. You can take this up a notch and make it healthy by including immunity boosting ingredients like ginger, turmeric, lemon, spinach, garlic. SKINCARE- We need to make sure our face gets just as much love. Sheet masks or overnight masks are the way to replenish the moisture lost from the low temperature and the harsh heater. Foods like beetroot, carrot, spinach can help you get that radiant glow.
STAY HYDRATED- Because the cold weather months are drying and we don’t eat those cold watery foods, we need to make sure we are drinking enough water. PICK UP A BOOK- It’s easier for us to stay at home during winters due to the colder weather, so why not catch up on that book you’ve been putting off for the longest time. SWEAT IT OUT- Although it feels harder to work out during winters, it’s important to stay active to get the blood flowing. Plus, your body probably feels stiff from all the hunching and shivering, so it’s important to exercise and loosen up those muscles.
A few simple changes can help you nourish your body during the winter months and make it more receptive to the changes you want to see in the new year. HAPPY WINTERS!
